Well, we've been, we've played, we've been woken in the night by a Fire Alarm. Big thanks go out to everyone at the YMCA Annual Conference for everything they did to make our time there as good as it was. We played a couple of songs on Friday, just as a trail for our gig on Saturday night. Saturday was spend prepping the stage in the as yet unopened Butterworth Hall. Thanks to Martin and the guys at the Warwick Arts Centre for setting us up with the support we needed on playing such a big stage. Saturday evening consisted of 'Ten Sing' - who we've seen before at Y Fest, they sang a few chart hits in their own, choir-like style. The Y factor brought together a mix of singing, singing and more singing along with some great performances by the judges (Chief Execs from various YMCAs). Then it was us! We came on to Child's Anthem by Toto. My laptop had failed (thanks Apple!) so only 1/2 of my sounds were working. After the set in of mild panic and an impromptu performance of 'All Right Now', I restored normal service! Thanks to Ten Sing for dancing the night away. Let's not forget the folks that took their place on the dancefloor after they left! Sunday was as unwelcome as anything could be. We'd packed down all of our gear on Saturday after the gig and set it up in the other theatre, spent a bit of time getting to know a few of the people dancing to the DJ, then gone to bed at 2. At 3.30 we were woken up by a fire alarm! The cold outside was especially unwelcome, as was the revelation that we'd have to turn our clocks forward an hour and still get up for breakfast in the morning! Still, our block of worship in the final morning meeting went down well. Thank you YMCA for a great weekend, thank you to Warwick Conferences for their excellent catering. See you soon Spencer for The Rumour
